Knitting is a declining art where the younger generation is not learning how to perform this skill. I don’t know exactly why that is, it could be interest, or time or the automation of textile and clothing development from China and Singapore.
However, from what I have been told, knitting is fun. My daughters have spent some time learning how to knit and have learned some skills and really enjoy it. It is a skill that is much easier if someone spends the time to teach their knowledge and provide that training and instruction.
Learning how to knit is taught by those that know. The generation that knows how to knit is my parents and my grandparents generations. They are the qualified instructors on teaching someone how to knit.
