Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist locations in the United States. Located in Nevada, it provides a glamorous adult getaway for those people who like to gamble and the Vegas skyline is complete with glitzy hotel casinos that try to entice visitors to come spend their time and money on their various offerings, i.e. restaurants, gift shops, shows, but most of all their casinos.
One of the iconic elements of the city is the Las Vegas sign. The wording on the sign says, “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” on one side and on the other side it reads, “Drive Carefully – Come Back Soon”. It sits on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip and is commonly used as a symbol of Las Vegas
The Las Vegas sign was designed by Betty Willis and was built in 1959 and is 25 feet tall. The sign is famous and many travelers to Las Vegas take the time away from the other attractions in Las Vegas to go get their pictures taken in front of the sign. The Las Vegas sign is even available on the Nevada license plate for residents of the state.
