Images of the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Logan Utah Temple was the second operating temple in the church. It was begun in 1877 and completed in 1884 and was dedicated by John Taylor the President of the Church at that time. The temple is just under 120,000 square feet in 5 stories and is made from a dark-colored siliceous limestone that is very hard and difficult to work with, especially for craftsmen and volunteer labor back in 1877 – over 130 years ago. The temple in Logan has a sister temple that is similar in architecture, located in Manti Utah.
The Logan Temple was completely gutted and rebuilt in the 1970’s and was finally completed and rededicated by President Spencer W. Kimball, the President of the Church at that time.
The Temple sits on a hill and can be viewed from all over the Logan Cache Valley area.
